Where does the time go?

It surely cant be February when I was last on here ....can it?

Well recently I have been making steampunk inspired pins to mount onto greetings cards and generally just messing around at my desk.

Today I have been tinkering with a second pair of goggles and also a small leather belt pouch.

I notice that steampunk is becoming a "thing" in crafting at the moment ... it has been a passion of mine for many years..so although it is nice to see it get a bit of publicity ...I will be glad, in a way when all the novelty has died down again! .. I am actually quite disappointed in some of the items that have been brought out onto the market at the moment ( the idea some people have that adding some gears or a hot air balloon makes something steampunk is quite annoying lol ). One thing I do like though is the set of dies I purchased the other week ...it has come in very handy for cutting out some leather gears for my project. Ok ..I will be quiet now ... lol :)


So this week I have made myself a couple of phone cases.  One is very girly steampunk and the second one is more plain.

 I have spent some time over the last few weeks ...tinkering with shadow box ideas.  Obviously I have my style that I love doing ...but thought I would experiment with some more traditional themes.  So here are some experiments.

Hello Blogland! Hope everyone is having a good start to 2013 ...

This week I have managed to find some crafting time - result!

So I tackled another blank shadow box I have had lying around for ...well lets just say a while ;0)

So ..first of all I added the background papers ..I had been collecting several different bits and putting them in a box - so I already knew roughly what I wanted in each section - although saying that - the bottom right one I re-did! So top row - left is apothecary ...bottles are by 7 Gypsies and Tim Holtz.  The Middle top is based on an old Bingo game I picked up at a bootsale and the top right is my passion for Steampunk.  The bottom left is some of the keys off the vintage typewriter I bought last year.  The middle is my love of vintage sewing items ..vintage buttons, lace and wooden cotton reels ( I adore wooden cotton reels!) and the bottom right is a chandalier and a fairy ... just because lol :0)

Steampunk Christmas

I have a craft fair next weekend - so I have decided to take some of my steampunk items along to see what the reaction is like.  I also decided to make some steampunk christmas cards to take with me.

Today I went to an antiques fair.  I managed to pik up some good bargains :0) just need the time to play with them now!

Updated Goggles

I have today re-done the leather strap on my goggles ... I was never happy with the original one I put on ...This one is much better :0) I have made the back adjustable with poppers so it should fit any hat I want to put them onto.

Steampunk Leather Choker

I have had this buzzing round my head for a few days .. so today finally did something about it ..I am not sure yet if I am going to tweek it some more ..but in the mean time ... not too bad.

Steampunk theme necklace

Ok ... lets say very slightly steampunk theme .... lol The main part of the necklace is a Tim Holtz key plate. The key is a vintage one from my store.

second attempt ..

So here is my second attempt at using an old watch case as a frame.  This time I have done a sewing theme, just for a bit of variation.  I am quite pleased with this one :0)
